She is Slayn’s comrade who fights together from the beginning. Longing for her late mother, it is her mother’s influence that she grows her hair.

Her personality is bright and basically positive, and she is popular with the people around her. But she also has a slightly trend junkie side, such as idolizing Vincent.

Although she is a woman, she plays an active role as a power fighter with high HP and physical attack power during battle. She specializes in swordsmanship, and her weapon is a long rapier.

However, instead of the rapier’s original attack method “push”, the attack method of slashing is used exclusively. She is not good at magic, she can hardly use it except for a small part, and she is weak against magic attacks.

Background

Annette is the daughter of Alfred Burns who is the president of the Xironia federation.

Her mother is a pharmacist, it is her mother’s influence that she has knowledge of pharmacy.

She is Gray Gilbert’s childhood friend, but she didn’t really remember how he looked.

Since she has nothing to do with spirit messengers, she won’t be involved in the latter half of the story.

Growlanser III The dual darkness

After finding Slayn who had collapsed from a fall, Annette helped him and nursed him until he regained consciousness. After Slayn wakes up and finds out that he has lost his memory and has nowhere to go, Annette takes Slayn to her house and lets him stay there.

Annette was assigned by her father to send a letter to the Schelfengrif Empire to forge an alliance. After that, Annette planned to look for new land that can be used to live. At that time she found out that the Featherians were running a project to save people and decided to go see them.

When the party passed through the tunnel to the Roland Kingdom, she was very sad to see the many corpses of people lying around. She is angry with the empire decision to let people die here, but she can’t refute Huey‘s opinion in favor of the empire decision.

Upon meeting the Featherian Queen, Annette asks the Queen to save her citizens by taking them to a new world. The Featherian Queen granted Annette’s request and sent a message to the Xironia Federation during the party taking time ore.

After successfully delivering the time ore to the Featherian Queen, Annette ensures that the citizens of the federation who follow the space-time project to the Queen. After learning that her father decided to stay in this world, Annette also decided to stay. Then she advised Slayn to do what he believed was right and bid him farewell.

After space-time project completed, Annette offers Victor who lost his destination to come to her place. In exchange of Annette providing a research site for Victor, Annette asked Victor to research how to grow vegetables in an area that lacks sunlight. She also provided a place to live for Monica whose house was destroyed.

During the break time, there will be a scene of Annette telling about her mother. If the player manages to meet certain conditions, the player can run Annette’s side quest related to her mother.

However, Annette slowly fades out in the middle of the story and after the her side quests ends. Since Annette has nothing to do with spirit messengers, she is not actively involved in the second half of the story, and will only get another scene in her ending.

Growlanser ~Densetsu no Isan~

In Growlanser ~Densetsu no Isan~, Annette appears in all chapters of the interactive games.

Her personality is still the same as seen in the main game, and she is still voiced by the same seiyuu.

In this story, Annette plays an active role alongside the new protagonist and Rummy in solving the incident of the missing water orb.

Seeing the new protagonist helping a merchant, it reminded her of someone (possibly Slayn), so Annette ended up recruiting him to find the water orb.

Together, they went on a journey and Annette served as the protagonist’s guide.

Drama CD

In the Growlanser III Drama CD, Annette is also not conspicuous because the story is more centered on Monica and new characters. As usual, Annette sounded concerned about her friends. Annette immediately takes care of Monica when she is injured. There’s also a story of her being a little clumsy who can’t tell the difference between sugar and salt.
