Gray Gilbert “グレイ･ギルバート” is the real owner of the body used by the protagonist in Growlanser III The dual darkness.

He is the son of former President Gilbert, and childhood friend of Annette.

He is a skilled assassin known as the invisible Gray. However, there is a strong reason that he works as a hitman.

Since the Slayn‘s soul uses his body, Gilbert’s appearance is the same as the protagonist’s.

Gilbert is 17 years old and his height is 178cm.

He has golden eyes like the color of his sword and his hair is white.

He is wearing a white long sleeve shirt with a black vest, black pants, black shoes, and a red ribbon hanging around his neck.

Personality

Gray has twisted personality, but even he shows his friends such kind of attitude he has, but he is grateful to Slayn for helping him.

He was almost crushed by Slayn’s powerful soul, but he wasn’t resentful at all.

He had prepared himself for the possibility that he would disappear, even though he wanted to talk to Annette, but he asked his friend to tell her that he had disappeared.

Background

Gray is a young man who became an assassin to avenge the enemy who killed his parents and Annette’s mother. His target is limited to bad guys, and many admire him as a chivalrous thief.

He is known as Invisible Gray because he can be invisible using the Invisible Stone.

He is Annette’s childhood friend and son of Former President Gilbert who was Alfred’s best friend.

He disappeared from the front of Annette after Gilbert’s death and went missing.

A person who knows the secret behind Annette’s mother’s death.

Growlanser III The dual darkness

Gray accepted the assassination of Alfred Burns mission from Gerhard. But it wasn’t to assassinate him, but to prevent other assassination requests from going. Gray thought he had deceived Gerhard, but later learned that he was the one who was trapped.

After a secret talk with Gerhard, Gray found a woman crouching on the side of the road. As soon as he approaches, he is attacked and seriously injured. He learned that the woman was Randoph in disguise and it was a trap to force the accusation of the emperor’s assassination on him.

Gray, who was dropped from the cliff, was seriously injured, but was saved by the possession of Slayn’s soul. After that, he shared his body with Slayn, and when Slayn fell asleep, he was able to move his body on his own initiative.

If the player does a side mission to defeat Randolph, there will be several scenes where Gray appears and asks for help to track down Randolph. But when Gray finds Randolph and wants to start killing him, Slayn takes over his body and replaces him to defeat Randolph.

After the battle with Zion, Slayn’s soul is separated and he regains his body. At the Michelle‘s ending, he tried to seduce her by pretending to be Slayn, but he got discovered in one shot, and left with a tongue-in-cheek. In other endings, he basically leave with joy that his body has returned. In the case of the Annette’s ending, he silently watch over Slayn and Annette hugging each other.
