VIctor Lloyd “ビクトル・ロイド” is a researcher and engineer who is a member of the spacetime fusion project.

He is known as “Viktor Hugo” in localized version.

After the space-time fusion project is completed, he joins the protagonist’s party and helps them both in combat and in research.

Personality

Since he likes doing research, he sometimes takes aggressive actions for the sake of it.

Sometimes he ignores common sense in order to progress his research, and doesn’t care about the harm caused to others as long as his research can progress.

In exchange, he is always willing to help others as long as it is related to his research or expertise without thinking about the long-term impact.

Therefore, he was used to help his enemy’s evil plans without him knowing it.

He fights using a hand bazooka and is a rearguard type who attacks from afar and can use magic, but his MP isn’t as high as Yayoi‘s.

Background

Victor was originally a magician, he acquired scientific knowledge comparable to Featherian and became a magic engineer.

His knowledge is very deep that he is selected as the central figure in the space-time fusion project. He is in charge of Magic Barrier Generators.

In the past, He received a request from a certain person to develop a dangerous substance called a Spirit Vase.

Growlanser III The dual darkness

Although Victor is an important figure in the spacetime fusion project, he doesn’t seem interested in traveling to another world through this project.

When the enemy troops attacked the Magic Barrier Generator, he asked the Featherian Queen to continue this project without him, then Victor immediately headed for Magic Barrier Generator No. 3 to ensure the project can run safely.

After the space-time fusion project was completed, he asked for the next research location and research theme, So he joined the party at the invitation of Annette who would provide a research site and asked to find a way to grow plants with minimal sunlight.

However, even when the party is disbanded, there is no special event for him, and player can only increase his affection by requesting item creation. Each item creation request requires story progress for one mission, and development will stop while Victor himself is added to the party.

On a mission in collaboration with Kenneth‘s troops, Victor made a communication device so Kenneth’s troops and Slayn’s party could work together remotely.

He asked Slayn and the party to check the Central Gate. After that, he played an important role in activating transgates in various areas that required him to be in a party when the party visited the transgate for the first time.

On a mission to infiltrate the library located in Bibliostock, Victor actively volunteered himself to become a party member.

He played an important role in making a homunculus body for Slayn which was one of the conditions for getting all good endings.

Growlanser ~Densetsu no Isan~

In Growlanser ~Densetsu no Isan~, Huey appears in the second chapter of the interactive game: Victor o Sagase! (Find Victor!).

His personality is still the same as seen in the main game. However, he is unvoiced.

When the new protagonist and party wanted to use the transgate to chase down the water orb thief, they found that the transgate was not working and they decided to look for Victor to solve it.

It turned out that Victor was in the library in Bibiostock.

According to Lord Granford, Victor went there for some investigation.

However, it caused the monsters within to be stimulated and rampage into the city.

After the party found Victor and solved the problem, Victor explained that he was conducting an investigation to solve the transgate problem that wasn’t working.

After that, they returned to Victor’s lab, and he managed to fix the transgate.

Drama CD

In Growlanser III drama cd, he acts the same as seen in the main game. Not only his behavior, but his role did not change. In this Drama CD too, he works together with the Featherian Queen and is an important figure in the spacetime fusion project.
