Three new party members have been added. New characters and accompanying scenarios have been added.

Compared to the PS2 version, which was a dark story just to draw the war as the main, the new route has many hot and hopeful developments, and it is a story reminiscent of Growlanser I.

In the original, there were many characters who said, “No matter how much you struggle, they can’t be saved” and “Even though you should be able to understand each other, but you have to defeat them because of their different positions”, but this time it became possible to save many of them. Along with that, the number of fate events has increased significantly.

Characters of other countries that must be defeated in the original version survive, and there is also a hot development where they confront the last boss with the main characters.

On the break up route, battles between allies occur like some routes of Growlanser II The sense of justice, and you can enjoy a unique development that was not in the PS2 version. Instead of having a character-specific ED like the regular route, the ED branches depending on the action and options. The villain Rudvich, who was showing charisma in the PS2 version, is also on this route. The final battle is to challenge the last boss with him, which is something that can not be imagined from the PS2 version.

There is even a development in which the protagonist awakens to ambition and walks on a bloody road. In any ending, Crevaniel who has a really bad face is worshiped.

Of course, the original route of route PS2 version is also provided, so those who want to play it can be relieved.

Anime movies are now inserted everywhere in the story, as in Growlanser V Generations and Growlanser VI Precarious world. CG movies and existing important scenes that were progressing in normal conversation In the PS2 version also have been added. The CGs remain the same except for the one that has been replaced with an animation.

All PS2 version EDs are included. Many new EDs have been added, and a total of more than 40 EDs are available. In the new route, new EDs will be prepared for all characters whose EDs were prepared in the PS2 version, and EDs will be welcomed not only for new characters but also for sub-characters such as Alicia and Maggie who did not have EDs in the PS2 version.

An ED list has also been prepared, making it easier to manage achieved EDs. Each ED also has a title, so it’s easy to understand. Some of them are strangely comedic titles. After defeating Last Boss, it is possible to save regardless of the route, and if you keep the data, you can watch as many of your favorite EDs as you like.

New Character Involvement

The new characters blend into the story almost naturally. Normally, adding a new character to a scenario that has already been established as one story will inevitably cause a sense of discomfort, but this work is made so that experienced players who have played the PS2 version don’t feel too discomfort.

Growlanser IV New Character

They have a good presence in the story, and they don’t fade out or stand out.

Many original characters also appear more frequently in the story, and firmly demonstrating their presence without being devoured by the new characters.

A certain enemy faded out on the way in the PS2 version, and the settlement was left until Growlanser IV Return, but in this work it is possible to defeat it during the main part.

About Last Boss

In the PS2 version, it was pointed out that the presence of Last Boss was thin, but in the new route, the addition of events and related characters has greatly increased the presence of Last Boss. From the middle of the story, the figure as an evil master is clearly drawn, and in the final stage, he will act like a last boss, putting world in danger.

In the PS2 version, the protagonist prevented the transformation of Last Boss to the true form and ended by defeating him in second form which was an incomplete form, but in the new route, the third form which is the true form appeared, and the personality as a last boss is more than enough.

Growlanser I Remake VS IV Remake

The new route of the Growlanser I PSP version was a route for new characters and was completely out of the original development. The new route of Growlanser IV is an extension of the main story and added branches, it can be enjoyed as an extension of the original story.

In Growlanser I, when a new route was added in the PSP version, the original last boss was easily replaced by the new last boss. But in Growlanser IV, the person who is the original last boss protects his seat as the last boss in all routes.

Familiar (Fairy)

Familiar has increased to 4 types.

With the addition of D-MD type, and the D-LM type, which required Growlanser III The dual darkness data in the PS2 version, can also be selected from the beginning.

Voice Actor Change

The voice actors for the dominant characters or party member remains the same, but the voice actor for familiars other than the D-TP type has been changed. Sub-characters such as Munzer and Sydney have also changed.

However, since voice actors with voice qualities close to the PS2 version are appointed as a whole, there is little discomfort even for players who have played the PS2 version.

Some lines have been retaken even for characters whose voice actors have not changed. All the familiar soliloquy has been newly recorded, and conversations with additional characters have also been added.

Content Change of GL Chips

In the PS2 version, stickers for the characters from Growlanser I to Growlanser IV were prepared:

But this time only the characters for this work and the latest Growlanser I PSP version are available. Leona’s graffiti on the bulletin board has been redrawn, and has improved a little.

Opening & Ending Theme

New OP and ED theme songs have also been prepared. The OP animation is an edited version of the animation being created, and is in the same format as Growlanser V and Growlanser VI.

Compared to the PS2 version OP, which has some melancholy, both the song and the animation have a heroic atmosphere, which makes us feel that a new route different from the original will be developed.

Opening Theme: GIFT ~君の元へ~ “GIFT ~Kimi no Moto e~” (GIFT ~To Where You are~)
Vocal: 久保田薫”Kubota Kaoru” / Kaoru Kubota

Ending Theme: Pray ~永遠への軌跡~ “Pray ~Eien e no Kiseki~” (Pray ~The Trajectory to Eternity~)
