Charlone

Charlone Claudios “シャルローネ・クラウディオス” is the main heroine of Growlanser II The sense of justice.

(She is known as Charlone Claudius in localized version)

She is the daughter of Mr. Claudios, the lord of Starkberg. She is one of the protagonist’s party members who joined from the beginning of the story.

Charlone also has the same dream as protagonist, which is to become an Imperial Knight.

Charlone is 15 years old and her height is 161cm. She has amber eyes and long white hair. She is wearing a red long sleeve top with a short white skirt, and white shoes.

Personality

Her nickname is Charlo, named by Hans. She admired Juria, the first female imperial knight, and was assigned to the same division as Wein‘s subordinate.

She is very strong and does not distort her opinion, so she may collide with others, but she is actually a kind girl with her younger brother.

Her weapon is a bow, which is characterized by a long ATW in exchange for high power and long range. She is also good at healing and support spells.

Background

She is from Starkberg and is the daughter of Mr. Claudios, the Lord of that city. She has a younger brother, Pietro.

Pietro became ill when he was very young and has difficulty walking by himself.

The doctor said he would not live past 10, so his parents lost all hope in any future for him.

However, Charlone never abandoned hope. Every day she came and told Pietro of the happenings in outside world and gave him the hope he needed.

In order to encourage her brother who is afraid to undergo surgery, she promises to be an imperial knight.

Growlanser II The sense of justice

Once joined the army, Charlone was positioned as Wein’s subordinate alongside Hans. Because of her serious nature and her impatience to fulfill her promise with her brother, she often quarreled with Hans who seemed not serious in carrying out the mission.

When they were framed by Patrick, Charlone was furious and blamed Wein and Hans for her her misfortune. But when Wein apologized, her anger subsided and she looked a little regretful.

When she saw the announcement of the recruitment of Unicorn Knight Troop, she seemed to regret her fate for not being able to take the exam and almost gave up. But after Wein cheered her on, she held onto hope again.

If after the fight to save Karen, Wein protects Charlone from enemy arrow, Charlone will realize Wein’s plight after the fight in Agriss village. If Wein chooses to keep going back to Burnshtain without resting or taking a detour, Charlone will successfully pass the exam and become a member of the Unicorn Knight Troop.

Even though she has become a member of Unicorn Knight Troop, Charlone will ask to keep acting with Wein on the grounds that she has been involved in the incident. After that, she reported that he became a member of Unicorn Knight to Pietro so he ventured to undergo surgery to become healthy and see his sister in action as a knight.

However, Charlone’s father, lord Claudios opposed her to continue on missions with the commoner knights. But Charlone continued to act with Wein and party. After some time, his father’s anger mounts and Charlone ends up being kicked out of the house for disobeying his father. Wein who complained about the decision was challenged to become an Imperial Knight in order for Lord Claudius to change his views.

However, even after Wein succeeded, there was no scene of Lord Claudios making up with Charlone. Based on the dialogue in Charlone’s ending, it seems that Wein will meet Lord Claudios after that.

On the mercenary royal kingdom, there is a dialogue between Hans and Charlone which indicates that Charlone is actually jealous and wants to follow Wein.

Growlanser III The dual darkness

In Growlanser III The dual darkness, Charlone appears as an imported character.

However, she is not involved in the main story, and only appears a playable character.

Her presence or absence will not affect the main story.

Players can talk to her to hear a few words from her. But she is not voiced in this game.

Growlanser ~Densetsu no Isan~

In Growlanser ~Densetsu no Isan~, Charlone appears in the original scenario: Burnshutain-ō-to ni te (In Burnshtain Royal Capital)

This story takes place after the story Growlanser 2, where Charlone made a cake for Wein. Then yesterday, Jurian showed up and asked teach her how to make cakes.

Charlone was surprised by Jurian’s rigidity in making the cakes and the cakes they made ended up with surprising results.

Wein appeared at the end of the story to taste Charlone’s cake. Wein was shocked by the taste and left in a panic.

At the end of the story, Charlone realized that his cake had been switched with Jurian’s.

Growlanser IV Wayfarer of the time

Charlone does not appear in the main story of Growlanser IV Wayfarer of the time. However she appeared at the ending of its OVA as fan service along with several other characters from Growlanser I to III.
