Ruise Forsmayer “ルイセ・フォルスマイヤー” is the main heroine of Growlanser I.

She is Carmine’s sister-in-law and Sandra’s real daughter.

(She is known as “Louise Fallsmyer” in localized version of Growlanser II The sense of justice)

Because of great power she has, she kept people away and became an introverted personality. Although she is a little distant from her surroundings because she is Growshian, she is very close to her schoolmate, Misha.

Because she has a feeling for her brother-in-law, Carmine, she asked to do magic training at home at an early stage.

Her weapons are staff and magic cards. Since she is the only Growshian in party, and she can learn all magic by herself, and INT value is high, on the other hand her defense is very weak.

Background

Ruise is Growshian with the greatest power born on the day of the total solar eclipse, she has the ability to manipulate powerful magic. She is the real daughter of Court Magician, Sandra and is expected to develop into a magician who will surpass Sandra.

When she was a child, she believed that Carmine was her real brother. When she was told the truth, she cried a lot.

On the other hand, she felt relieved, but she didn’t understand why she was feeling relieved, so she cried more and more because she thought she was a cruel person.

After some time, she realized why she felt relieved was because of her feelings for Carmine. From then on, she aspired to be Carmine’s wife.

Growlanser I

Due to Sandra’s magic book theft incident, Sandra postpones Ruise’s magic training, so she goes to accompany Carmine on his journey. During the attack on Sandra at the royal castle, Ruise awakens her magic power so that she masters one of the high-level magic, Teleport.

Learning from this incident, Sandra decided that Ruise would learn better in real action than learning magic from her, then ordered Ruise to continue traveling with Carmine.

After the fighting tournament, Ruise made a vow on Promise Pendant to make Carmine cry, and made a wish for everyone to be happy.

When she realized the strangeness in Misha, she hesitated about what to do with her best friend. Upon learning of Misha’s true identity, Ruise is furious with Principal Maxwell, and tries her best to comfort Misha.

On her last vacation event, Tipi points out that she and Carmine is a “good siblings”, and she became wondering if she could keep it as it was.

As a result of Venzel pulling out her Growshu at the later part of the story, she gradually get memory regression and even loses track of her friends and succeeded in making Carmine cry. But due to Carmine’s space-time interference ability, she regains her memory and Growshu, and became a trump card against Gevel who is weak against Growshian.

However, defeating Gevel with that power put Carmine’s life at risk, and she regrets it and even saying that it would have been better to be ruled by Gevel than his brother suffered.

If she is selected for the fireworks event, she would briefly talk about her childhood with Carmine while climbing onto the roof of their house. At the confession event, she will tell Carmine about her past and since when she started having feelings for Carmine.

At her ending, she will tell Carmine that she made another wish to the Promise Pendant.

Growlanser ~Densetsu no Isan~

In Growlanser ~Densetsu no Isan~, Ruise also appears in the World Concept section.

She explains the history of the Growlanser world with Annette and Charlone.

She is in charge of explaining the world of Growlanser I after Annette, which will then be handed over to Charlone.

Ruise also appears in original scenario 1: Tipi no Yūutsu (Tipi’s Melancholy).

This story takes place after the story of Growlanser 1, where Tipi and Ruise discuss about Carmine’s popularity.

Drama CD

On the Growlanser I Drama CD, Ruise sounds like she has the same personality seen in the main game. She is affectionate with her brother, on good terms with her best friend Misha, crybaby, etc.

In the Growlanser VI Drama CD, there is a section where Rukias imitates Ruise’s voice and says “Onii-chan”. Because Ruise and Rukias are voiced by the same seiyuu, Rukias managed to reproduce Ruise’s voice perfectly. In Seiyuu Comment in the main game of Growlanser VI Precarious world, this Seiyuu also reproduces Ruise’s voice in the Rukias Seiyuu Comment section.
