Eraiza Mayfield “イライザ・メイフィールド” is one of the heroines in Growlanser IV Wayfarer of the time.

(She is known as “Eliza” in localized version). She is the daughter of Lord Mayfield.

A naïve young lady who has a tomboyish personality despite her feminine way of speaking.

She has long hair at the beginning of the story, which she cuts short in the middle of the story.

Personality

Eraiza is a little naïve young lady.

At first, she spoke in a gentle and feminine tone, but she is a tomboy and gets emotional easily. However, she has a smart side as well.

Her favorite food is the Iglesias cuisine of her hometown, and she also mentions lasagna and cheese.

She lacks common sense and has high pride, she could not accept her opinion being rejected and was initially unwilling to work.

But she has a very high sense of caring. When she finds out her servant is working outside to get her needs met, she is able to change her mind and is willing to do any kind of work.

Background

The daughter of Lord Mayfield, the Lord of Fandelcia in the eastern part of Iglesias Kingdom.

But she stays at her villa in Marcurey so as not to get involved in the war.

While her parents live in Fandelcia.

Since she is a noble, she is known by many important people from various countries such as the Royal Princess of Marcurey, some Royal Guards of Valcaneer, merchants, and of course the citizens of Fandelcia.

Growlanser IV Wayfarer of the time

The first time Eraiza appeared in the game was when Crevaniel visited the item shop in front of Marcurey royal castle. At that time, she came to meet the merchant and immediately left after confirming that her order was available. After that, she didn’t show up for a while.

After Crevaniel and the others escaped from Dulkheim, Eraiza saved them and let them live in her villa. Hearing the news from Crestfer that her hometown, Fandelcia had been occupied by Dulkheim, she became very worried about her parents. After learning that Crevaniel and Rems were mercenaries, Eraiza asked them to escort her to Fandelcia to find out the condition of her parents.

Before heading to Fandelcia, Eraiza and the others stopped by Ordinale’s villa. Hearing about Eraiza’s plan, Alphonce was against the idea and asked them to cancel it. After that, she was very angry and cut her hair and changed into a short dress to show that she could protect herself.

Seeing Eraiza’s determination the next day, Crestfer supported her and convinced Alphonce that they would be fine. After that, she joined the party as a playable character.

When they arrived at Fandelcia, Eraiza was a little angry seeing the many Dulkheim soldiers there. However, she was able to restrain herself from acting rashly. Before leaving Fandelcia, she was a little angry at Frane for not answering her question. But after learning about Frane’s condition, and Frane had apologized, they made up.

When she returned to her villa, Eraiza was surprised to see that there was no other servant besides Revan. Knowing that Revan had fired them without consulting them, she was angry and immediately locked herself in her room.

Then Crevaniel tried to calm her down, it turned out that Eraiza admitted that Revan’s decision was right. But she felt angry as she realized how unreliable she really was. To solve her financial problems, Eraiza intended to sell the furniture in her villa. But Revan stopped her because it would not solve the problem. He then suggested finding a steady source of income.

Knowing that Marcurey royal palace was occupied by the Valcaneer army, Eraiza was furious and determined to fight to protect Marcurey, which is the second hometown, so that what happened in Fandelcia would not happen to Marcurey.

At one point, Eraiza got the idea to do the same as his father to gain revenue. She wanted to implement a tax in the area where she lived. But Sydney disagreed and explained why Eraiza’s idea wouldn’t work. Eraiza then dropped the idea, but when Sydney wanted to give an idea, she couldn’t hold back her anger and told Sydney to shut up.

On her next vacation, Eraiza asked Gordran for business guidance. But since she hadn’t decided on the type of business she wanted to be in, Gordran couldn’t be of any help. Gordran advised her to consult Sydney. But because of what happened before, Sydney didn’t dare to say much.

Eraiza then apologized to Sydney. However, because Eraiza did not have the capital to spend, Sydney could only advise her to consult Mell. Eraiza learned many things from Mell, but none of them suited her. So she decided to think of another way.

One day Revan asked permission to leave for a while. Eraiza was curious and followed him. It turned out that Revan was working as a private teacher to help with Eraiza’s financial problems. Knowing that, Eraiza threw away her pride and determined to work with her own hands. Then, Eraiza decided to work as a jack of all trades.

After that, Eraiza received various jobs ranging from finding a kidnapped pig, searching for the whereabouts of a missing lover, to investigating a suspicious organization called Ausgleich. Knowing that Ausgleich was acting in her hometown, Eraiza could not remain silent.

Thanks to that, she was able to reunite with her parents and protect Fandelcia. After that, Eraiza decided to stay with her comrades instead of living with her parents. Seeing that, her parents supported her decision and were proud of their daughter’s growth.

On the night before the last holiday, Eraiza confessed her feelings to Crevaniel. When they had their date on the last holiday, Eraiza revealed her desire to live in the villa even when the war was over. And they made a promise there.

After the successful magic removal, Eraiza temporarily forgot about Frane and Leona, though she soon remembered them again. However, she completely lost her memories of Crevaniel. Eraiza is one of two characters who forgets about Crevaniel in all endings.

Growlanser Aratanaru Densetsu

In Growlanser Aratanaru Densetsu, Eraiza appears in three side stories: Frane no kaiga kyōshitsu (Frane’s Painting Class), Hien no kenjutsu shinan (Hien’s Swordsmanship Instruction), and Mei tantei Eraiza no odoru daijigen-bo (The Great Dancing Casebook of Eraiza the Famous Detective).

1. Frane no kaiga kyōshitsu (Frane’s Painting Class)

Frane no kaiga kyōshitsu tells the story of Frane teaching painting techniques to Eraiza.

Eraiza asked Frane to teach her how to paint as it was one of the fields that a noble needed to know.

This story took place some time after Frane’s painting was displayed at the museum.

In her progress, Eraiza received praise from Frane.

At the end of the story, Leona came and praised her painting. But she mistook it for a painting of a volcano.

2. Hien no kenjutsu shinan (Hien’s Swordsmanship Instruction)

Hien no kenjutsu shinan tells the story of Hien teaching swordsmanship to the party members.

This story took place some time after Regiena joined the team.

At first, Eraiza asked Hien to teach her swordsmanship.

During training, her comrades came one by one to witness it.

However, due to Hien’s insensitivity, he misunderstood and thought that everyone who came there wanted to practice swordsmanship from him.

3. Mei tantei Eraiza no odoru daijigen-bo (The Great Dancing Casebook of Eraiza the Famous Detective)

Mei tantei Eraiza no odoru daijigen-bo tells the story when Eraiza receives a request to investigate a case.

This story also took place some time after Regiena joined the team.

While Vallery and Regiena were thinking about what they would like to do to spend the day off, Eraiza returned from the royal palace and related the request she had received.

It turned out that a medal had been stolen from the royal palace and Eraiza was asked to investigate the case.

Then, Vallery and Regiena decided to spend their day off helping Eraiza.

Growlanser IV Wayfarer of the time Return

In Growlanser IV Wayfarer of the time Return, Eraiza appears in the GLIV Return section, in the third chapter: 帰還”Kikan” (Return).

This story is a direct sequel to the ending scene in Growlanser Wayfarer of the time. It has been half a year since Crevaniel started traveling to various countries with Eraiza.

To end their journey, they returned to Fandelcia, Eraiza’s hometown. As soon as they arrived in Fandelcia, they met Eraiza’s childhood friend.

He was one of the former nobles who had lost his position due to the new government system that Eraiza and the others had created while she was still a member of parliament.

He was not able to adapt and had difficulty in living his life. As a result, he was determined to stage a rebellion.

Hearing that, Eraiza was determined to return to politics to fix the new government system and convinced her childhood friend to wait for 1 year.

Eraiza also appears in the OVA bundled with this game. It is a direct sequel to chapter: Return which tells about the situation of the world including Eraiza and several other characters.

In OVA, Eraiza appears in her previous outfit (long hair and long dress).

Growlanser IV OVER RELOADED

Original Route

This route more or less tells everything that happened in the Growlanser IV Wayfarer of the time.

Due to the involvement of additional characters, there are several additional stories on original route that don’t exist in the PS2 version.

However, whether Eraiza will be present in the additional events depends on the player bringing her in the party or not.

New Routes

Growlanser IV OVER RELOADED contains 2 new routes, an extended route based on the original story, and the Dulkheim route that was created by ignoring the original story.

1. Extended Route

There are no much changes to Eraiza’s events on this route. All the conditions needed to get Eraiza’s ending are the same.

As for the new events, it’s the same as the original route, whether Eraiza will be present in the new events depends on the player bringing her in the party or not.

On FMV after the last fight, Frane thanked Eraiza for saving them when they had just escaped from Dulkheim.

She also mentioned that if it were not for that, maybe the world would not be saved.

Since Crevaniel did not disappear after the final battle, a different ending was prepared, but with a shorter duration and without CG.

Crevaniel returned to Marcurey and reunited with Eraiza without any serious drama. Due to that, this route has nothing to do with Growlanser IV Wayfarer of the time Return.

2. Dulkheim Route

After his eighth vacation, Crevaniel received a letter from Rudvich containing an apology and negotiations.

Crevaniel then parted ways with some of his comrades and returned to Dulkheim. One of the comrades that was left behind was Eraiza.

Since Dulkheim is an enemy nation of the Marcureys, they often have to deal with their former comrades,

Eraiza is no exception. She had to fight alongside General Baker against Crevaniel and his party.

And Eraiza got killed right there.
