Chriass “クライアス” is son of Seldiss, the supreme commander of Peace Maintenance Brigade (PMB).

He was born and raised in PMB. He belongs to the political division of the PMB.

Chriass has same silver long hair as his father and turquoise colored eyes.

Chriass is 21 years old and dressed like a pirate captain with navy-white colors and gold accessories.

Personality

Chriass is a man who has a high spirit of righteousness even though he works in the political realm.

He can’t allow evil to happen in front of his eyes, even though it will be politically bad that results in him going against his father.

Since he doesn’t remember anything about his mother, he is very curious about his mother and often shows a great interest in her mother’s relics.

He has high leadership talent and is quick to take action and determine the next course of action. In battle, Zeonsilt is in charge of the party’s course of action, but Chriass seems to take the lead most of the time when it comes to moving the story.

His weapon is a curved sword. Although the reach is short, the ATW is short, and the legs are fast. A typical avant-garde type with high maximum HP and low INT. However, his agility to take the initiative can get in the way of escaping combat.

Background

Chriass is the son of the PMB supreme commander Seldiss and Vanette. He was born when PMB was still newly formed and was repairing the Admonisher, at that time their organization was still not called PMB.

Due to an incident, his mother died when he was a baby. He grew up seeing his father, admiring and proud of his father. He has a dream to protect the peace of the continent like his father.

He is a childhood friend of Sheris of the Cyriltia Kingdom, and because of that, he had a good relationship with her brother (current king) and was like a real brother.

He has been negotiating with other countries as his father’s right arm, but has lost his passion for some time (in the conversation with Sheris at the beginning, he is reluctant to respond to her remarks).

Growlanser V Generations

In Growlanser V Generations, Chriass has already appeared actively in the Fanil’s Role. He helps Fanil who wants to research new energy sources using the help of fairies until the end of Fanil’s role.

In the main role, Chriass appears when Zeonsilt and Mervina are on their way to PMB headquarters, then join them. During the peace meeting, Chriass introduced Zeonsilt to all the important guests present.

Since the incident of the theft of ancient weapons documents, Chriass who is a member of the political division joins Zeonsilt and Mervina who are the members of the operations division to catch the culprit. When General Lockbein is carrying out his plans on Mount Nostal, Chriass is actively running to go stop him.

He seems to have a strong influence from the political sector which makes Gyaricke abandons his intention to capture Zeonsilt to investigate his special ability shown during the first appearance of the Mutant Screaper. He also actively shared the news of this mutant screaper to Sheris of the Cyriltia Kingdom. After that, Sheris told Zeonsilt a little about their past.

After they manage to defeat the mutant screaper in Geilenach, he borrows Zeonsilt and Fanil to work with him and moves separately with Mervina. They manage to find the secret base of the Neylern army and capture Fernand. Chriass hides the fact that they managed to reclaim the document in Pothrad language and continues to move with Zeonsilt and Fanil separately with Mervina to investigate what Eizack is hiding.

In the Totuwa village, he looks happy when he finds someone who keeps his mother’s diary because he has no memory of his mother and is very curious about what his mother did in her life.

Because he has a high spirit of righteousness, he is in conflict with his father who makes decisions based on the political situation rather than saving the lives of people from other countries. Chriass tries to find a way to keep the peace without relying on the Admonisher threatening the other countries.

After his father decided to support him, he managed to stop the Grangale army’s attack on Jaergen village without killing anyone by using a high level sleep magic “Hypnos” which resulted in Loofass starting to change his judgement about PMB.

But because of this righteousness too, Chriass had a hard time acknowledging Zeonsilt’s existence after he learned the facts about Zeonsilt’s body that ended up saying cruel words to him. But after some time, he came back with a solution to solve it and apologized for being too emotional.

After his father’s death, he quickly recovered and prioritized defeating the Queen Screaper over grieving. After Queen Screamer was defeated he became busy traveling to various countries to solve political problems.

Growlanser IV Wayfarer of the time

Chriass does not appear in the main story of Growlanser IV Wayfarer of the time. However he appeared in shadow at the ending of its OVA as trailer of Growlanser V along with several other characters.

Growlanser VI Precarious world

Continuing the previous work, Chriass also appears in Growlanser VI Precarious world. This time he became the supreme commander of PMB. He seems to have deep trust in his colleagues at PMB.

He seemed cooperative with Merklich and his party and immediately did whatever he could to support them.

One of them was to assign Zeonsilt to help them. He looked proud when Fanil took the initiative to go to another continent to save Zeonsilt.

In the final phase of the story, he will provide a side quest. He will challenge Merklich and his party to compete to retrieve the ancient relics stolen by a group of bandits.

Chaos Wars

Chriass appears in another game “Chaos Wars” in chapter 8 act 1. If the player manages to defeat the screaper while other enemies are still left, Chriass will join the party.

In this game, Chriass is given an exclusive skill that belongs only to him called “Gardia”.

Note: The game itself informed that “this story has no relations with any existing works” at the beginning of the game.

Drama CD

Chriass appears in the drama cd of Growlanser V and VI.

In the Growlanser V Drama CD, Chriass sounds just like his character seen in the main game. He actively determines the course of action in political matters, and entrusts command in battle to Zeonsilt. He also sounded unhurried in his decisions and was able to negotiate with Vittorio calmly.

In Growlanser VI Drama CD, even though the drama content is comedy, he still acts as usual and is more active in retort.
